Waiting…for my girl to have her girl.

Yesterday, my daughter went into labor a week early—for eight long hours and then it stopped! When she got home and updated me, she was admittedly disappointed, yet she was strong in her faith and secure in His peace. How proud I am of her—as a mom, as a wife, as a daughter, and as a person!

Psalm 127: 3 says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” For the first time, I realized that this is not only true for the parents but also for grandparents as well as other family members and friends. I want to always remember that my children and grandchildren are a very great reward to me—a beautiful heritage I will treasure forever.

As I anticipate the birth of my second grandbaby, I am grateful for the wonderful heritage that this new life brings. I want to give this little one a foundation of family faith, a true picture of God’s love, and a sweet and godly family heritage, whether in person, over Skype, through my prayers, or whatever.

How about you? What are you grateful for in your family heritage and how do you pass it on? I’d love to know.
